
The Italian consulate in downtown Cairo has reportedly been hit by a car bomb. The Egyptian State TV said one person was killed and at least 4 others wounded in what has been described as a huge explosion. There has been significant damage to the side of the building and a wall has collapsed. The witnesses on the scene say there was blood on the debris. There has been no immediate claim of responsibility to the attack.
Italian foreign minister has posted this response on tweeter saying bomb at our consulate in Cairo, there are no Italian victims. We are near to the people hit and to the personnel. We will not be intimidated.
