Conference “Justice for the Iranian Resistance”
in the presence of President-elect of Iranian Resistance
and participation of
French and European Jurists and Parliamentarians
Paris- March 4, 2009

On March 4th, a conference titled “Justice for the Iranian Resistance” was held in Paris in the presence of President-elect of the Iranian Resistance and with the participation of French and European jurists and parliamentarians.
In this conference, 3 legal opinions by distinguished legal experts in Europe’s law were presented regarding the need for ending the “June 17” dossier.
In her speech, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi said:
Mr. President,
Respected parliamentarians and jurists,
Ladies and gentlemen,
I am very glad to be in your gathering,
Six years ago, based on a deal with the mullahs’ regime and due to a political miscalculation, the office of National Council of Resistance of Iran was attacked by 1300 cops on the fake excuse of terrorism; a political scandal under the guise of a judicial case.
Today, I accuse those who victimize the rule of law and justice vis-à-vis economic interests and political observations by continuing this bankrupt dossier in a bid to help the religious fascism ruling Iran.
Today, the realities have surfaced more than ever, and secret deals with the mullahs for fabricating such a case have been divulged more than before.
We have a definite demand: Stop investigations, or refer it to the court; the primary reasons of the arrests, i.e. the terrorist list, have been destroyed”.
“We have no doubt that we shall overcome all problems; just as we gained victory, along with all lovers of justice and freedom, in the issue of terrorist tag against the PMOI.
While the students at Polytechnic University of Tehran and other universities in Iran have been chanting “Death to dictator” over recent days,
While the people of Iran desire an end to the religious fascism and want a change,
Fabricating dossier against the regime’s opposition is a strategic mistake.
The time has come to end this policy”.
François Colcombet, French judge and former MP, said to Mrs. Rajavi: “We are welcoming you in this gathering at a time that the PMOI has been removed from the EU terrorist list following its victory in European Court of Justice. The issue that remains is the dossier that exists in France against the Iranian Resistance, and we are looking into it today in the presence of jurists and experts”.
Stephano Manacorda, professor of penal law in Naples-Italy, presented the legal opinion of Prof. Antonio Cassese, a pre-eminent Italian jurist and President of the UN International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, and said: Professor Cassese has formulated his opinion based on the European conventions for human rights, and regarding the June 17 dossier in France, he has come to the conclusion that with no doubt this file is of no accordance with the human rights principles and the rule of law.
Professor Bernard Bouloc, French expert in penal law, presented his legal opinion, which was the third legal opinion suggested in the conference.
Jean Pierre Spitzer, the French expert in European law and member of PMOI’s lawyers team in the European Court of Justice, said:
“Based on Professor Labayle’ legal opinion that I share the same idea, the “June 17” dossier and freezing the properties should not be continued any more, particularly that the European Court of Justice.
François Serres, another lawyer of “June 17” dossier said: “This file was made based on terrorist designation. However, after the removal of the PMOI from the terror list, they intend to keep it in the list, therefore a judicial hostage- taking has been going on.
Mario Stasi, former president of Paris Bar Association, said: “A few days ago AFP reported that the Iranian officials are taking advantage of this dossier for pressuring to extradite the residents of Ashraf, and this has created a condition that threatens the lives of 4000 people.
Other speakers in the conference were:
Daniel Jacobi, honorary president of the Human Rights World Federation
William Bourdon, prominent French lawyer and member of the French Lawyers’ Guild
Fillip Champotier, French lawyer
Senator Jean-Pierre Michel, member of French Senate and the founder of French Judges Syndicate.
Morten Hoglund, Vice Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee of Norwegian Parliament
Press meeting of Mrs. Rajavi

After the conference “Justice for the Iranian Resistance”, Mrs. Rajavi attended a press meeting with the presence of correspondents from French and international media.
Mrs. Rajavi said in this meeting:
“The most significant reality in Iran today is the presence of an explosive discontent and an organized resistance.
Over recent days, the students of Polytechnic University, teachers in four provinces in the country, the workers of still factory, and thousands of followers of a religious minority embarked on protests during which dozens were injured and hundreds were arrested”.
Mrs. Rajavi underscored the “general boycott” of the presidential electoral show by the Iranian people and said: “Whoever comes out of the ballots, will pursue the bomb producing program, export of terrorism and internal suppression. If the regime submits to a free election based on democratic standards, it will be overthrown”.
Mrs. Rajavi pointed out that based on previous experience, negotiation with this regime is futile. She added:
“Iran’s dilemma has one solution and it is democratic change by the Iranian people and resistance. We have always desired and still desire for a free election under the auspices of the United Nations. We struggle for a democratic, peaceful and non-atomic Iran; for a republic based on separation of church and state, pluralism, equality of women and men, and free of torture and execution.
What we are asking the West is to be impartial between the people of Iran and the ruling religious fascism. Our demand is an end to the West’s participation in suppressing the opposition. The invalid file against the Resistance in France is one of the most significant examples to this suppression.
The mullahs use this file as important evidence proving that PMOI is terrorist. Based on this accusation, they are attempting for extradition and execution of 3500 members of the Iranian opposition in Ashraf.
On 28 February, Khamenei, the leader of mullahs’ regime, said in a meeting with Iraq’s president: “The mutual agreement regarding the expulsion of the Mojahedin from Iraq…must be implemented and we are waiting for it.”
Khamenei’s insistence on expelling PMOI, while emphasizing that other countries do not agree with accepting them, is a plot for massacre or surrendering them to the mullahs’ regime.
