In an unprecedented anti-human act, the clerical regime put poison in political prisoners’ food in Gohardasht prison to poison and kill them. Following refusal of political prisoner Mr. Mashallah Haeri, 64, father of two PMOI members in Camp Liberty, to eat contaminated food, henchmen are preventing his medicine from reaching him. This is while Mr. Haeri is suffering from various illnesses, including severe heart problem and has experienced two caesuras due to barbaric tortures and dreadful prison conditions. He is currently in a dire condition and cannot walk or talk.
Henchman Khodabakhshi, regime’s deputy prosecutor, in response to protests by families of political prisoners has said: “It is not that we will execute them all; we just execute some. Some will become like Dogmechi; and others will be tormented to death like the ones who are presently here.”
Mr. Mohsen Dogmechi, 53, a renowned Tehran merchant with a good name, was imprisoned because his daughter was in Ashraf and because he helped families of political prisoners who had no custodian. Although he had cancer, he was deprived of any medical treatment in prison and finally after suffering nine years of imprisonment and torture, he was tormented to death in April 2011.
Meanwhile, cut off of hot water at the beginning of the cold season in Gohardasht prison has more than ever intensified pressure on prisoners endangering their health.
