In an interview with Asharqiya TV, Abu Azzam al-Tamimi, the general advisor of the Iraqi Awakening Councils said: A number of those arrested by the Awakening Councils have confessed that there had been coordination between the Qods Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and Al-Qaeda in Iraq in order to attack the Awakening Councils’ forces.

He added: The inhabitants of western Baghdad have started to join the Awakening Councils, and the number of volunteers presently exceeds 11,000. They have joined the Awakening Councils to show Iraq’s enemies that these attacks has no effect on their will and determination. There are many signs of connection between the Iranian regime and Al-Qaeda.

He added: there are some entities that have connections with the Qods Force. Their connections with this Force before and after the war are well known to every body. They are in an announced solidarity with the Iranian regime.
