Senior Iraqi Mufti Sheikh Rafe al-Refaie delivered a speech marking the anniversary of the al-Sariya mosque massacre in Diyala Province by Maliki’s military personnel.
“Today we are reminded of the criminal bombings by Iranian regime paramilitary forces under the direct supervision of Maliki’s government targeting protesters and demonstrators seeking their legal rights,” he said.
“The goal pursued through these crimes is to force the people to succumb to Maliki’s cruel rule… today, on the anniversary of this massacre we call on our youth to stand against the ruling party under Iran’s hegemony that hates the Iraqi people, history and soil. The Iranian regime is seeking to export reactionary ways of thoughts throughout the globe,” the Iraqi Mufti added.
