The commander of the mullahs’ State Security Force units in East Azerbaijan Province claimed most of those arrested in the unrest regarding Lake Oroumieh are ex-convicts with goals other than saving the dried lake.
“The protests that took place mainly followed objective other than that of saving Lake Oroumieh, resorting to irrational methods in this regard”, Massoud Khoramnia said in an interview with the IRGC affiliated Fars news agency.
