On February 14, 1989, Khomeini issued a death Fatwa for Salman Rushdie, the author of ’The Satanic Verses’; and by doing so disguised his intentions for export of terrorism with theoretic justification.
Being disgracefully defeated in the anti-patriotic war with Iraq, in order to divert the public attention from his crimes and avoid accountability for his responsibility in 2 million casualties and $1 Trillion of losses in the war, Khomeini issued the death Fatwa of Salman Rushdie. The book had not yet been translated into Farsi at the time. It is said that Khomeini had not read the book and he only excommunicated the author for his need for export of terrorism.
