Following the European Union Council of Ministers Session, UK Foreign Minister William Hague called on the Iraqi government to show softening on the deadline to close Camp Ashraf.
Britain’s top diplomat said this issue was discussed, stressing this subject is one of Iraq’s priorities, not European Union governments. However, EU seeks human rights to be fully respected there as anywhere else in the world.
Hague said he believed it is better for the Iraqi government to show softening regarding the deadline it has set to close Camp Ashraf. Britain will continue its requests of observations on this issue and everywhere in the world, Hague added.
