Following US President Barack Obama’s meeting with Saudi Arabian King Abdullah, a senior White House official said they are suspicious regarding negotiations with the Iranian regime and we understand this that the Gulf countries have doubts regarding these talks. This is correct, he added, because they see Iran’s activities to destabilize the region, support the Howthis in Yemen and other destabilizing activities, and this regime’s support for the Lebanese Hezbollah. If this regime goes nuclear it will be very destabilizing for the region, he added.
We along with our Gulf friends are working to support the Yemen government, and we have time and again revealed and stopped Iran’s support of the Howthis or other groups in Yemen, he continued.
We are working with a large number of countries to stand against Hezbollah’s activities, including actions against their financial resources and intelligence cooperation between them, and we are strengthening the Lebanese Army, the senior White House official said.
We have offensive measures across the globe to confront Iran’s support of terrorism and reveal and stop its activities aimed at destabilizing regional countries, he added.
