Ashraf residents’ relocation is an Iranian regime plan: al-Mulla

NINA news agency, 12 Dec 2011 – Heidar al-Mulla, spokesman of the Iraqiya Coalition and the Iraqi Parliament Human Rights Commission, said a policy presented by the Iranian regime portrays as if there is an interest in Iraq to expel Ashraf residents, while thisis none other than the political plans and agendas directed by the Iranian regime and it does not represent the true interest of the Iraqi people.
“This issue in our opinion is unacceptable,” he said in a statement. “Our position, based on the fact that the matter of Ashraf residents is under international covenants and the Geneva Conventions, is principled and permanent.”
“The remarks recently made by the UN Secretary General Representative in Iraq regarding the conditions of Camp Ashraf residents and the need to respect international standards and coordination with the UNHCR in processing this case is the only road map for the Ashraf residents’ dossier,” Heidar al-Mulla added.
“There is no other path for the Iraqi government but commitment towards the conditions set by the UN Secretary General envoy,” al-Mull continued, “and we believe the UNHCR has true and practical mechanisms to finalize this case. However, speaking of transferring Ashraf residents from Diyala to other provinces inside Iraq is implementing the Iranian regime’s plan and agenda with the objective of physically annihilating PMOI members.”
