German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said: up to now the punitive sanctions against Iran have been effective and this regime feels the pressure very well.

In an interview with the financial German daily “Handelsblatt” German FM also said: he expressed his position two years ago that if Iran regime wouldn’t help and the problem couldn’t be solved politically, the punitive and economical sanctions are inevitable.

Also Reuters reported that the France’s Ambassador to the United States, Pierre Vimont has said: “we are trying to reach an agreement on the new resolution with some of the (U.N. Security Council) members.”

At a conference on Iran hosted by the Middle East Institute, a Washington think-tank, Pierre Vimont added that two previous sanctions resolutions were having some impacts… French envoy stressed that the international community should stick to its current sanctions strategy…
