
AP reported from Cairo while the Egyptian government is faced with increasing threats from extremist groups, especially in the Sinai Peninsula, the United States is increasing its military aid to this country. On Friday the US delivered eight F-16 warplanes as a part of its military support.
Washington’s military aid to Cairo was suspended until early this year. However, the US government announced these aids have restarted due to national security issues.
US Secretary of State John Kerry visited Egypt and then headed off to meet with the Gulf Cooperation Council states to discuss the nuclear agreement with Iran and the threats seen from Tehran.
