Iraqi MP Wesal Salim of the Iraqiya Coalition warned of the human rights violations faced by Camp Liberty residents and called on the United Nations to provide security for them, al-Tagheer TV reported.
“The UN is the first party responsible for the Camp Liberty dossier and the violations taking place against them because it has given them guarantees,” she said.
This MP called on Iraqi government officials to abide by international conventions regarding human rights principles, emphasizing Liberty resident refugees must be protected and they enjoy international covenants and refugee rights, and that Iraq has signed these conventions.
