According to a report published by the Iraqi Al-Mada daily, Sadr supporters staged demonstrations in Baghdad and Basra burning pictures of Maliki.
“On Tuesday, in an unprecedented event amongst Iraqi Shiites, demonstrators in Baghdad and Basra burned pictures of Nouri Maliki in their protest demonstrations in which thousands participated,” this daily wrote.
“Demonstrators chanted slogans against Maliki and his policies, carrying pictures showing Maliki as a vampire, and then burning it…” the daily added.
