PMOI’s presence in Iraq is an obstacle to Iranian intervention, Salih Mutlaq

On Dec. 2, in an interview with Al Rafidain T.V. the leader of the Iraqi National Dialogue Front Dr. Salih Mutlaq condemning the Iranian regime interferences in Iraq said: To confront Iranian regime’s interferences, the presence of the PMOI in our country is to the benefit of Iraqis.
The PMOI are our guests and any assault to them is not acceptable for us. They came here on invitation of Iraq and they have been here for quarter a century.
Dr. Mutlaq added : the Iranian regime has a great influence in Iraq through its intelligence and it has killed thousands of Iraqis, has demolished the infrastructures of Iraq, and has also destroyed the Iraq’s economy. Is it the right to confront an organization which is a firm obstacle before Iranian regime’s interferences in Iraq? Is it a reasonable move? For what reason should we confront the PMOI, and to whose benefit? On which principle we may justify such confrontation? In addition, the PMOI is protected by Fourth Geneva Convention. International Red Cross has supported them. They are also supported by international community.
