In an interview with BBC World Network, Professor Raymond Tanter, former US National Security Council member, emphasized on necessity of support of democratic changes in Iran by the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) and the Iranian Resistance.
While rejecting military attack and also the appeasement policy towards the mullahs’ regime, he said: “What we need is a third option. This option is to help the Iranian people and that is not through support of just a few poets and historians, rather through support of the main opposition namely the PMOI which is presently stationed in Iraq and the National Council of Resistance (NCRI) which is stationed in Paris. As we face a war, this third option is being quite increasingly discussed and noticed.
Responding the question what reactions might Ahmadinejad’s visit to New York raise, Professor Tanter said: As the New York Post wrote the Iranian President could go to hell, the same place where the devil goes. You don’t invite a main international terrorism sponsor to visit Ground Zero, the result of terrorism.”
