Nourallah Malaki, head of police in the Iranian city of Behshahr, expressed his all-out fear of the people turning the traditional end of the year Fire Festivities into an uprising.
“Special measures are being taken to constrain violations during the Fire Festivities, and there will be no remorse with the violators,” he said.
“We welcome the people’s joy and having a good time is not in violation with the law. However, if these measures lead to disorder we will take the necessary actions to prevent any problems,” Malaki added.
