The EU appointed a senior Belgian diplomat for Camp Ashraf affairs, Iraq National Movement-affiliated Baghdad daily reported.
Jean Du Ruyt, who was the Belgian Ambassador to the EU, will act as advisor to EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton on issues relating to Camp Ashraf, said Catherine Ashton’s spokesperson.
Amnesty International says that Ashraf residents have been subjected to the Iraqi Government’s persecution, and are deprived of access to primary medical services.
