The main demand of these demonstrators is the revoking of retirement salaries for ministers and heads of the three state branches. They also protested the lack of the most basic services for the people.
In other news, hundreds of people in Ziqar Province in the south in the city of Nosseriya demonstrated for this same cause of having retirement salaries revoked for ministers and heads of the three branches of government. The protesters said they will continue demonstrating until the sectarian rationing in the government comes to an end and corruption is stopped in Maliki’s ranks and files.
