The Association of Independent Iraqi Jurists issued a statement condemning Nouri Maliki’s lies and distortion of the truth regarding Camp Ashraf.
“Nouri Maliki’s website claimed the UN Secretary General’s Special Representative in Iraq approved the necessity of implementing the Council of Minister’s resolution for the expulsion of Ashraf residents from Iraq at the end of the year,” this statement read. “However, the shameful perspective of the issue is that Mr. Melkert denied the news published by Maliki’s deceitful media network, announcing the UN continues to advocate that Camp Ashraf residents be protected from forcible deportation, expulsion or repatriation contrary to the non-refoulement principle.”
