Ahwazi workers in the province of Khuzestan, southern Iran, called on the workers to take part in the Labor Day commemoration on May 1st. In a statement issued to invite all workers to participate in the demonstration, they said: we all know that the laborers in Iran are the most forgotten and deprived and suppressed sector of this country, and that poverty, injustice, repression and suppression in imposed upon us illegally but by the law.

Our daily life has reached a point that some of us have to sell our body organs like our kidneys or other parts of our body to buy medicine and other necessities. We cannot even pay for our food and our family goes hungry for days.

Thus, we ask all laborers in Iran to turn this international Labor Day to a day of outcries against injustice, oppression and prejudice that rules our country.

The Labor Day is the day for our outcry and protests. Let us meet on Thursday in front of Khuzestan provincial building on April 30th to take part in the Labor Day demonstration.
