Following months of engagement between the monarchy family and the first parliament, Mozzafareddin Shah signed the constitution based on which the Iranian government turned into a royal constitutionalism. This constitution consisted of 51 articles that were later on completed by a number of amendments.
One the most important achievements of the constitutional movement was changing the absolute monarchy system into constitutionalism, striping shah of executive power.
Mohammad Ali Shah who preceded Mozzafareddin Shah opposed the constitution and later on mullahs such as Sheikh FazlollahNouri joined him.
