Iraqi Parliament Speaker Osama al-Nujaifi said, “I oppose Maliki’s government due to his illegal policies.”
“The recent Human Rights Watch document revealed serious crimes and violations, and our obligations impel all of us to take action to reform the status quo,” he said in a speech to general elections candidates in Baghdad.
“You are the officials responsible in this regard and a huge mission is upon you and the society, and this is a responsibility you have to carry out together,” al-Nujaifi said.
“Iraq is facing two paths: it will either be a strong Iraq with its citizens living in peace, or it will head towards disintegration, civil war and cruelty. It is our responsibility to prevent such conditions…,” he added.
