Accusations against PMOI, an attempt to cover Iranian regime’s crimes in Iraq

Intifadieh Movement of Shaabania in Najaf- Iraq regarded the stance made by Jaafar al-Moussavi against the PMOI an attempt to cover up Iranian regime’s crimes in Iraq and condemned it strongly. The statement partly reads:
On Tuesday 14 August 2007, Iraq’s chief prosecutor of the criminal court Jaafar al-Moussavi said that the initial judiciary measures as to the PMOI’s file has started.

The Iranian regime for covering up its crimes in Iraq is trying to abuse all methods such as terrorist activities, political conspiracies, making files, slander and rumors, in order to set the grounds for repatriation of the PMOI to Iran or expelling them from Iraq and terrorist operations. On of these allegations by the velayat-e- faqih regime of Iran is the preposterous allegation that the PMOI were involved in suppressing the uprising in southern Iraq in 1991. As a humanitarian duty, and as the Intifadieh Movement of Shaabania that was engaged in the issues at those days, we would like to testify that the PMOI had no role and presence in those events. During the 21 years of residence of the PMOI in Iraq, we have always been witness to their non-interfering stances in Iraq’s internal affairs, and we consider them as our strategic friends against our common enemy which is fundamentalism and terrorism that has always acted under the cover of religion.

We severely condemn these remarks that had been dictated to al-Moussavi during his visit to Tehran, because he is conspiring for the murder of the PMOI, and hence it is considered as war crime and a crime against humanity.
