Two senior Shiite leaders condemn Iran’s meddling in southern Iraq

In an interview with Al-Want daily, published in Kuwait, Dr. Redha al-Redha, Secretary General of the Institution of Iraqi Shiite Jafariah, said: The Iranian regime’s activities in southern Iraq is dangerous for the neighboring countries, and the danger of Iranian regime has prompted the region’s countries to improve their defense programs. The Iranian regime’s danger started from Iraq and spreads to other Persian Gulf area.

Dr. Redha al-Redha asked for joint efforts of Iraq and Kuwait to confront the Iranian regime’s activities in southern Iraq and added: Kuwait’s interests can’t be separated from Iraq’s interests; it should be reminded that the Iranian regime tries to establish despotic governments in the region.

In another interview with Al-Watan daily, Dr. Nadim al-Jaberi, Secretary General of Iraq’s Fadhilat Party, said: The Iranian regime has turned Iraq into its conflict field with the US. He opposed to any meddling in the Iraqi affairs and warned of division of Iraq which leads to turmoil and chaos in the region.
