In an interview with Taghyeer TV, Iraqiya Coalition leader Ayad Allawi said his coalition obtaining power in Iraq is a red line for Iran.
“We have never heard from Turkey saying we have problems with Maliki. However, we have heard Iran say we have problems with Allawi,” the Iraqiya chief said.
On Iraqiya’s chance in the Iraqi elections, Allawi said, “This first depends if the elections are held correctly or not. Secondly, it depends if any climate of fear and arrests or elimination of anyone takes place, as they did in the past. It also depends if all movements have equal assets, or the government provides only accommodations for certain parties. If the government provides television and radio stations for various parties, the Iraqiya Coalition should also enjoy such accommodations. “
