Women’s demonstrations marking International Women’s Day

In Tunisia numerous demonstrations and dozens of celebrations were carried out on International Women’s Day. In these demonstrations, a number of representatives from political parties and civil rights organizations took part. On Habib Bourghiba Road in Tunisia’s capital, a massive rally took place and the women chanted slogans calling for the observation of their full rights and their participation in the government. They also rejected any denial of the country’s women’s gains.



According to the Syrian Human Rights Network report marking International Women’s Day, since the beginning of the revolution, some 13,000 women have been murdered in Syria and some 5,000 others have been arrested by Assad regime forces. Also, according to this report 11 thousand women have been murdered by armed forces of the Assad regime and 33 others have been slain at the hands of ISIS.
In Syria, at the end of each day 12 Syrian women are murdered. The Syrian Human Rights Network report gives terrible statistics of the pain and suffering of Syrian women. State forces carryout the most atrocities against Syrian women.
