The Iraqi South Oil Police in Basra found and confiscated a smuggled fuel tanker destined for Iran west of Basra, Asharqiya TV reported.
The tanker which was confiscated along with its driver, carried 36 thousand liters of fuel products ready for smuggling to Iran, Asharqiya TV reported quoting an intelligence source. The tanker driver was holding fake customs papers.
“During the last 6 days, 5 tankers carrying fuel products and ready for smuggling to Iran were found and confiscated,” according to the source.
