5,000 workers of the Bafagh mine went on strike protesting the arrest of two of their colleagues. This protest rally began on Tuesday night and continues to this very day. 16 other workers were also on the list of the regime to be arrested, yet their colleagues were able to help them flee from the agents.
Regime officials intended to arrest 18 of the organizers to avenge their first successful 39-day strike staged by these workers 3 months ago. The regime also intended to pressure the arrested workers to prevent a repeat of any such widespread protests. However, the workers used their previous experience of resisting in unity again the regime’s repressive entities.
