People on streets belong to no candidate, Khamenei

In a joint meeting with representatives of the election candidates and the clerical regime’s Interior Ministry officials on Tuesday evening June 16, 2009, Khamenei, the supreme leader of mullahs’ regime tasked them to defend the identity and entirety of the regime, reported the state-run News Network TV.

Khamenei said:” We must be careful that the elections do not cause split; this is my main word.
We should look at the votes of nearly 40 million people in this term; this is what matters. I believe it is the duty of all of us to safeguard it. That means in our words we should explicitly support this national unity and the Islamic system. Do not downplay it; it is a very important issue.

Some people may have filed complaints and protests through various channels. Well, there are legal ways, and these (complaints) should be considered. I ask the authorities in the Interior Ministry and in the Guardian Council to consider these cases precisely. It does not matter if it is necessary to recount some ballot boxes for some problems. For example, it is said that somebody said the votes of this candidate is this many, whereas another figure was given out. OK it is easy; they can recount those boxes or some of them randomly.
We are proud of this election. 40 million votes is not a joke.

Even those who have not voted for Dr. Ahmadinejad or have voted for Moussavi, or Karroubi or Rezaii, they all share (the outcome of elections) too. The country and system owes them in creating this great epic event, and system really owes them.

However, we all must stand in the face of these subversions and take stance. They (other factions) should say that this sabotage and these ugly actions and sometimes the crimes that are committed belong to none of the parties; it has nothing to do with the people, it does not correlate with the candidates; it’s done by the saboteurs and the hecklers.

These people neither support this faction nor the other. These are people who are against the entirety of the system, they are against the country’s stability, they are after convulsion, and they advocate turmoil. They want no calm. I tell you, no matter who is in the office, even if the outcome of the elections were different, I can assure you that we had the same events. They seek to destroy the country. Nobody should help this convulsion and turbulence and all must take stance against it. They (other candidates) must make it clear that this is not what they want. “
