US asks EU to stop activities of two Iranian banks

The US government asked European Union to stop activities of the Iran’s banks, Melli and Saderat. The Financial Times wrote in this regard: This US request was aimed at heightening pressure on the Iranian regime in order to confronting Iran’s nuclear ambitions, and the UK and France agree on shutting the branches of these two banks in Europe.

According to this paper the U.S. believes that Saderat and Melli banks are involved in the activities of financing the terrorist operations and spreading WMDs, and the goal financial affairs against these two banks is to isolate Iran’s bank system from international financial system.
