Following the recent escalation of the power struggle between Rafsanjani and Khamenei, on the evening of Tuesday, March 25th, a number of Khamenei supporters disrupted Rafsanjani’s speech in a mosque of Kish Island in Iran’s southern areas.
Rafsanjani’s speech at a mosque in Kish Island turned into disarray and was disrupted, the regime’s state-run media outlets wrote.
Following these clashes the regime’s governor of Hormozgan Province and a number of other high ranking officials were expelled from their posts.
