Prime Minister Ghozali was received at Auvers-sur-Oise by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of Iranian Resistance, and honored for his enormous endeavors and steadfast defense of PMOI members in Ashraf and Camp Liberty
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi: We are gathered here today to express our gratitude to you for your fidelity, friendship, solidarity and valor. This gratitude is also expressed by PMOI members who are in Ashraf and Liberty; they hail you. They feel that you are by their side and boast about your friendship. I have always said that friendship of defenders of freedom such as you who are fighting tyranny and fundamentalism is of immense value to us.
You were beside us in our hard times to assist the PMOI members in Ashraf who are symbols of liberation in Iran. You well comprehend the essence of fundamentalism and hence you promptly advocated the need for a front against fundamentalism by Muslims in the world against the mullahs’ regime.
In our international campaign, you are the President of Arab-Islamic Committee in Defense of Ashraf. You were present everywhere in the world where your brothers and sisters in Ashraf needed you. You were always at the forefront. They were friends like you who helped us remove PMOI from the blacklists throughout the world. The benevolence of a man such as you who moves with his heart and principles encourages and strengthens our resistance.
Through support of Muslim brothers such as you, PMOI is heartened to rid the stain of mullahs and fundamentalism from Islam. We can and we must demonstrate that Islam is a religion of compassion, brotherhood, development and sublimity of science and noble human values. It is because of this that you merit our deep gratitude. We are optimistic about future. We believe in freedom and victory of our people. Iran’s history, as well as Algerian history will always be proud of you.
Prime Minister Ghozali: I take you as my witnesses and as comrades of over nine years that I have always asked you not to thank me. If I am defending the struggle in Iran, in fact, I am fighting a fight that is my own. I can just repeat here that any act of mine that you described as endeavor or bravery with respect to the Iranian Resistance or any hardship I may have endured and may continue as well is incomparable to what people of Iran are enduring and what the Ashrafians are undergoing this very moment that we have gathered here.
Every time that I think about what Ashrafianshave endured druing these years, especially after 2008, I become deeply disturbed. On so many occasions they were threatened and suffered tortures and now they are being physically relocated to a big prison without due respect for their fundamental rights and in breach of all commitments by United Nations, United States, Government of Iraq, and the European Union to protect them and they are still deprived of security and justice.
Ever since I have discovered the Iranian Resistance, I have learned a lot and while it is you who are thanking me now, in fact I have received more than I have given and I am not saying this to flatter people. This is because when I see hundreds upon hundreds of Iranians here and there, in Brussels, Berlin and Geneva, and I speak to them and get to know them, I see with my own eyes what it means to devote oneself to a purpose and utterly dedicate oneself, solely working for the Iranian Resistance. It is not because of us, because of those who supported you that the Iranian Resistance created these victories, but it was due to your own endeavors, your incessant sacrifice for so many years. And of course you will be victorious in the end. There is no doubt about this.
Abolqassem Rezaii, speaking on behalf of families of martyrs and those present at the meeting: Mr. Ghozali, you are not just a friend, supporter and coreligionist for PMOI, but you are a symbol for noble politicians that are indeed scarce in our world today and we look for them everywhere in the world. We also owe you a historical thank you since during your prime ministry you ordered cease of relations with mullahs because of their terrorism and meddling. Mrs. Rajavi always tells us that we want to mix politics with nobility and we are delighted to have a symbol such as you that represents nobility in politics.
