Despite an agreement between Arbil and Baghdad, a new unit of the Iraqi Army from Baghdad has been dispatched to the Tuz Khurmatu region and stationed near the area.
“The new unit consists of the Iraqi Army 14th Division Special Forces Battalion dispatched from Baghdad to this region and stationed 25 kilometers west of Tuz Khurmatu,” said the city governor in an interview.
“We have no trust in any agreement with Baghdad, due to the fact that the central government continuously sends forces to this region,” he added.
