The oppressive state security forces raided a number of bakeries in region No. 2, in Mahestan Street, west of Tehran accusing bakeries of bogus charges, but in reality for extorting and plundering. They threatened to close down the bakeries on Tuesday Jan. 13t if they did not pay extra charges that they had requied. The owners and bakers resisted and subsequent clashes erupted.
