
Members of the Iraqi Parliament in interviews with various news outlets emphasized on the demands of 133 of their peers regarding the rights of Ashraf and Liberty residents.
Iraqiya Coalition spokeswoman Meysoun Al Damalouji issued a statement declaring:
“Pressures on Ashraf residents for their transfer to Liberty and efforts to confiscate their properties are all measures depriving them of their most fundamental rights, and this is unacceptable.
“It is unfortunate that the prime minister attempts to gain the consent of Iran from Iraq’s international credit, while the PMOI are no threat to our security”.
Iraqi MP Talal Al Zobaie from the Iraqiya Coalition:
“The US government shouldn’t have just delisted them from the black list. In fact, it must pressure the Iraqi government to prevent the confiscation of their property because their assets and rights must be preserved.”

Iraqi MP Dr. Mahmoud Othman from the Kurdish Coalition:
“The strong relations between the Iraqi government and Iran will lead to Iraq having biased policies towards the camp residents by closing the camp and expelling the residents to third countries.”
Iraqi MP Ahmad Al Alwani, Chair of the Economic Commission called on the UN to allow Camp Ashraf residents sell their properties. He also called on the Iraqi government to have a position different from that of Iran vis-à-vis the People’s Mojahedin Organization.
Iraqi MP Leqa Wardi, Chair of the Immigrants Commission questioned Kobler’s stance and said: “Martin Kobler’s positions towards Camp Ashraf residents is not impartial.” She considered the confiscation of Ashraf residents’ properties by the Iraqi government as a flagrant violation of the constitution.
Iraqi MP Falah Naghib, former Interior Minister:
“The plunder of Ashraf and Liberty residents’ property and the Iraqi Government’s attempts to arrest and intimidate Iraqi merchants who are looking to buy the Ashraf residents’ property, are unacceptable.”

Iraqi MP Latif Mostafa from the Change Movement:
“The Iraqi Government must observe and respect the Iraqi Constitution and international treaties in regards to Ashraf residents.
Iraqi MP Shuwan Mohammed Taha from the Kurdish Union, called on the Iraqi Government to treat Ashraf residents in accordance to the standards of International Law.
Iraqi MP Bakr Hamd Seddigh Arif from the Kurdish Islamic Union:
“Ashraf residents are political refugees in Iraq and they must be treated in accordance with the Iraqi Constitution and international human rights treaties of the UN.”
Iraqi MP Bayazid Hassad from the Change Faction, called on the Iraqi Government to treat Ashraf residents in accordance with international standards. He expressed hope that the Iraqi Government will respect Liberty residents as refugees.
