
the 72nd day of Ashraf residents’ families’ sit-in outside of the UN building in Geneva started on Wednesday while participants chanted slogans in defense of Ashraf City.
In this gathering, Mrs. Nahid Hemmatabadi, artist, and member of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, spoke and said: “We, the Ashraf residents’ families and supporters of the Iranian Resistance have repeatedly said either here or in New York that Ashraf City’s protection must be officially guaranteed by competent authorities; in case of any possible dreadful incident for Ashraf residents, we challenge the people in charge before international tribunals.”
Dr. Manouchehr Fakhimi, senior Geophysics expert, spoke and supported demands of the sit-in.
Also, a film about execution and torture in Iran was shown. Some Swiss citizens and foreigners visiting Geneva signed a letter addressing the UN Secretary General expressing their support for the sit-in demands.
During the sit-in, eight delegations on behalf of the participants referred to the international and human rights organs and informed them of the sit-in goals regarding of obtaining Ashraf residents’ legal rights.
