Conference in Paris against executions in Iran

On the occasion of ’World Day against the Death Penalty’ (October 10), a conference was held in Paris with participation of political personalities and human rights organizations. In this conference, public brutal excecutions, carried out for public intimidation, and excecution of children by the Iranian regime were condemned.

In the beginning, Senator Jean-Pierre Mitchel, member of French senate and former judge,
welcomed the audience and reiterated that the number of announce executions in 2007 under the mullahs’ rule included all sectors of the society, even the children. He referred to the fact the Iran’s ambassador has been summoned to France’s foreign ministry and has been reprimanded for increasing number of executions in Iran and said,” More is expected from France as the periodical presidency of the European Union to take more measures”. He added, “ ” French Committee for a Democratic Iran” which he chairs will develop its atcivities to other European countries and the EU, and will ask the European countries to submit to the European courts’ verdicts on annulment of terrorist labeling of the Iranian Resistance.

Then a documented film about execution and barbaric behavior of the clerical regime in Iran was shown that strongly impressed the audience. Senator Michelle said the film needed no description and showed the tragedy of public execution by the clerical regime.

At the end of the this session a statement was released by the French Committee for a Democratic Iran that partly reads: Based on the announced figure in Iran, 251 people have been executed since the beginning of 2008 including 9 juveniles, the Iranian regime has the highest number of excecutions in the world with respect to the population.
The French Committee for a Democratic Iran express serious concern the PMOI, the main Iranian opposition organization, being in the EU terrorsit list under the pretext of airy accusatins and in violation oftheEuropean courts’ verdicts, and is misused by the Tehran regime to justify excecution of these opposition. Twenty years ago 30,000 of these oppositions were massacred in th Iranian prisons. It is time that the world community put the officials responsible for massacre and crime aginst humanity in an independent internations court.
