Iran: Second day of truck drivers’ strike across the country

On Wednesday, May 23, the strike of truck and heavy vehicle drivers continues throughout Iran for the second day. Truck and heavy vehicle drivers refused to move and load goods since Tuesday morning May 22 in protest of the deterioration of their livelihood, low fares, high logistic costs and vehicle stalls, and extortion under the excuse of tariffs. .

On its first day, the strike included 93 cities in 25 provinces, including the provinces of West Azarbaijan, East Azarbaijan, Kermanshah, Kurdistan, Isfahan, Ilam, Khorasan Razavi, North Khorasan, South Khorasan, Chahar Mahal and Bakhtiari, Khuzestan, Zanjan, Sistan and Balouchestan, Semnan, Fars, Qazvin, Kerman, Gilan, Mazandaran, Markazi, Hormozgan, Hamedan, Yazd and Bushehr.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, saluted the striking truck drivers and heavy vehicle drivers, and called on all the people to support them.
