Head of the National Contract Workers Union revealed an annual 5% increase in the number of contract workers in Iran.
“In various production units, the contract workers wages range between 250 to 300 thousand tumans (around $250 to $300),” Fattolah Bayat said in an interview with the state-run ILNA news agency.
“Currently, over 50% of the workers are receiving only the minimum wages assigned by the Ministry of Labor,” he continued demanding an increase in supportive government policies for the workers.
Bayat said currently 85% of the active workers in production units throughout the country are comprised of contract workers.
