BBC quoted General David Petraeus, the commander of MNF-I as saying that the missiles which hit the International Zone in Baghdad were the missiles manufactured in Iran and had been provided by Iran and were used by the elements of the special groups that are being supported by the IRGC Quds Force by funds, arms, trainings and equipment. These militias are commanded and conducted by the Quds Force.

Petraeus added all these measures are blatant breech of the commitments Ahmadinejad and other senior officials of Iran made to their Iraqi counterparts.

BBC reported that the new tactics of Gen. Petraeus have been effective in war on terror and has kept the number of casualties down, but mortar attacks like yesterday that led to the killing of all members of a family is still going on and Gen. Petraeus holds Iran responsible for these attacks.

BBC added: Gen. Petraeus has proved to be very effective in Iraq, but the decisions regarding bombing Iran or withdrawal of US forces from Iraq are made in Washington DC.
