Despite a plea to allow Ali Asghar Mahmoudian to participate at his mother’s funeral, the prison authorities in Semnan did not allow the prisoner to go to her funeral.
Ali Asghar Mahmoudian was arrested in 2010 in Tehran and was accused of enmity with God due to his support for the PMOI. He was sentenced to 6 years imprisonment and exile to a bad location with bad weather climate. He has been in prison for past five and half years.
His mother had been ill for past few months and his efforts to see his mother was rejected by the prison authorities. He has also been denied temporarily leave from the prison to visit his disabled mother, whereas it is customarily to receive permission to leave in such a circumstances.
Ali-Asghar Mahmoudian’s father has also been dead and his sick mother was the only close relative that Ali-Asghar had. Despite all these, the prison authorities did not permit him to leave.
