
Brave youths throughout Iran celebrated the annual Fire Festival on the last Wednesday eve of the Iranian calendar before the new year celebrations of Nowruz, turning these festivities into anti-regime protests.
Reports from Tehran indicate powerful explosions were heard in the Sadeghiye district where youths used hand-made explosives, raising fear among the regime’s security apparatus. As a result, the regime’s security forces aired helicopters in the area to confront the youth. In many areas, the sounds of the firecrackers and hand-made explosives were so loud and strong that the State Security Forces retreated from the scenes.
In this same district, courageous youths set fire to a Bassij station and confiscated a number of arms. As a result, the mullahs’ regime placed all Bassij bases on high alert.
In Mashhad, security forces clashed with youths in Afsar Avenue, where protesters had gathered and chanted ‘Death to Dictator’. While the security forces had arrested two youths, protesters came to the help of those arrested and forced the security agents to release them.
In the city of Ahwaz, southwestern Iran, youths in the Kianiaras and Kurosh districts had sporadic clashes with State Security Forces.
In Orumieh, northwestern Iran, clashes erupted between youths and the regime’s forces in the area near the Ghuyoun Kurpousi district.
In the city of Amol in northern Iran, the repressive forces attacked people who were celebrating the festivities and the youths responded by throwing powerful firecrackers.
In Chalus, north of Tehran, clashes took place between those celebrating the festivals and plainclothes agents. The youths beat two of these security agents.
