The leader of the Iraqi National Dialogue Council Sheikh Khalaf al-Alyan in an interview with INTV said: Terrorist designation and sweeping sanctions against the IRGC and the Qods force is a slap on the clerical regime and its affiliated terrorist forces. He welcomed the move as a step forward to cut hands of these forces in their crimes in Iran and Iraq.

Asked whether the designation is related to Iranian regime’s criminal interferences in Iraq he said : the IRGC has been the source of many criminal acts against Iranian people. They have arrested and tortured many people in Iraq and they are doing the same in Iraq. We have been witness to tortures in Iraq which we had never dreamed or imagined. These are unprecedented acts in the history of countries except for Iraq today. We had heard that similar events have happened in Iran. Inserting this force in the terrorist list was a good move that will cause Iran in conducting its crimes in Iraq.
