Workers of the urban rail transportation have continued their protest demanding 8 months unpaid wages. Strikes and demonstrations have spread in recent days and weeks in protest to lack of receiving their wages and salaries that government agencies claim is due to scarcity of raw material which has resulted in the shutdown of factories.
Deprived workers have been neglected and the first ones to lose their salaries. In that sense, they have been forced to take sit-ins and protest to this unjust deprivation.
Reports that have been coming in show that some 450 contract workers in urban transportation section in the city of Ahwaz alone have gone on strike for past three weeks demanding 8 months of unpaid wages.
