This poem and photographs were sent to us from Iran. A contemporary Iranian poet who happened to witness this shocking and heartbreaking so called “home” of a family that due to extreme poverty live in a hole in a cemetery, wrote this poem. It says;
“The Sheikh [pointing to the Iranian Supreme Leader] lives in a castle, but we live inside this grave,
Post the picture of Khamenei here,
For he is the fox, not the Supreme Leader
A wolf who had become a tiger,
He destroyed our homes,
And said ’my rule is absolute’
Homes of Iranians turned graves,
Can you say what would be the purpose to wait?
Our home is now in the cemetery
People are now tenants of the dead
The destiny of homeless is now in the grave
No more happiness or joy in our lives
The poster of mullahs’ big castle,
But our eyes are pinned to,
Finally see the lion to come and save us from this wolf
