Al-Arabiya TV, 6 November 2010 – Subsequent to receiving information that Al-Qaeda intends to carry out a series of attacks by using motorcycles, the Operations Command of the al-Anbar Province banned the transportation of any motorcycles and bicycles in the main roads of the cities and villages of the province.
Al-Anbar Governor Qassem Abed accused Iranian regime of supporting armed elements that target the security of the province. Al-Anbar Governor said to al-Hayat daily that after receiving accurate information showing groups of Al-Qaeda intending to carry out special terrorist operations by using motorcycles, we reached this decision in coordination with the Operations Command of al-Anbar. The governor said this information was obtained through the interrogation of elements affiliated with Al-Qaeda whom had carried out a terrorist operation in the governance building on July 4th of last year.
