
On her last day of visit to Italy, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, met and talked with Carlo Pannella, leader of the Italian Radical Party. She also met with Mrs. Amilio Skirro, Italian Member of Parliament from the Democrat Party in her residence.
In her meeting with the leader of Italian Radical Party, a delegation of prominent members of the party including Mrs. Elizabetta Zamparutti, member of Italian parliament from Radical party, Mr. Antonio Stango, chairman of Helsinki Watch Human Rights Association and Mr. Sergio Delia, head of the international human rights Association “Hands off Cane” were present.
Expressing his delightfulness of presence of Mrs. Rajavi in that party’s headquarters, the leader of Radical Party emphasized that the Party has continuously condemned the religious dictatorship and violation of human rights in Iran and has defended the just ideals of the Iranian people’s resistance. He added, “We follow the situation of Ashraf City and emphasize the need for its protection to be guaranteed based on the international law”. He added, “the party and its representatives in the parliament have kept asking for removal of the unjust terrorist tag against the PMOI, and now that in its second verdict, the European Court of Justice has annulled the terrorist labeling, there is no more excuse, and the European Union must remove PMOI from the EU terror list. ”
Mrs. Rajavi appreciated The Italian Radical Party’s stances in defense of human rights and condemnation of the clerical regime for consecutive years and emphasized that the Iranian People and Resistance never forget their friends and supporters in hard condition.
In her meeting with Mrs. Amilio Skiro, Italian member of Parliament from the Democrat Party, Mrs. Rajavi thanked and appreciated Mrs. Skiro’s supports for the Iranian Resistance, and explained the latest situation and events in Iran and the situation of the Iranian Resistance. In particular, she explained the clerical regime’s conspiracies against Ashraf City protection, and also the international campaign to confront it.
