Iran, Sept. 25, 2017 – A large group of teachers of northwestern province of Mazandaran, gathered in front of the governor’s office in the city of Sari, the provincial capital to demand equal pay with government employees based on same credentials and background experience.
They were carrying placards with slogans written on them. Those slogans read: “Our salary is a quarter of what the poverty line stands”, and “all their pledges were empty.”
Security and state police tried to break up the gathering, but the peaceful demonstrators resisted and continued with their protest.

Unable to disperse the crowd, the suppressive state security forces tore up their banners and posters after attacking a number of protesters.
