Human Rights Watch on crimes committed by Iran-linked militias in Iraq

Human Rights Watch issued its latest report on summary executions, kidnappings, murder and other crimes committed by Iran-associated militia groups in Iraq.
Militias are violating the laws of war without any specific military reasons. These measures include murder on the spot and deliberately destroying hundreds of homes and stores in the city of Tikrit, the report says.
Katayeb Hezbollah and Asaeb al-Haq abducted more than 200 Sunnis, including children, near the town of Addur located south of Tikrit, and the fate of 160 of them remains unknown, HRW continued.
Shiite militias and their commanders can go unpunished, weaken the campaign against ISIS and place civilians in even more danger, the report concluded.
